Friends of Divine Daughters, Welcome! This web site is an offspring of Rachel Bagby's book, Divine Daughters. It owes its existence to a learning community of friends who give voice to daughters’ wisdom. Remember that every woman is someone's daughter. Every woman embodies the legacy of some culture, some people, some place and may carry the as yet unvoiced wisdom of many generations.

After nine intense years of helping to care for my aging parents, I am bringing renewed passion, poetry, and music to nurturing a vibrant community that amplifies daughterly wisdom. Please bear with me as this website is revamped to include “voice blessings” music samples, and choral music downloads—e.g. “DaughterWise Suite,” a collection of songs about the trials and triumphs of caring for aging parents.

“DaughterWise Suite” was commissioned by the New Spirituals project of Muse, one of Ohio’s premier women’s choirs. The commission included a collaboration with Ysaye Barnwell, artistic director of Sweet Honey in the Rock, who created and scored the choral arrangements.
